Filet mignon is a premium cut of beef known for its exceptional tenderness and mild flavor. It comes from the smaller end of the tenderloin, a muscle that does very little work. Steak knife optional. *Steak weights are not exact. Nominal variation is normal.

Cooking Tips:

  1. To cook a perfect filet mignon, bring it to room temperature.

  2. Then season generously with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

  3. Option A: Grill it on low heat. The filet is exceptionally thick and it takes time to bring the center to your desired heat.

  4. Option B: Sear it in a hot skillet for 1–2 minutes per side, finish in a 400°F oven to your desired doneness, and rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

  5. Devour, or garnish with a pad of butter to enhance the natural flavor.
